O Festival InShadow organiza um workshop de 5 dias sobre a temática do Vídeo-dança, componente teórica e prática, que irá anteceder o início do Festival e terá uma apresentação final dos resultados na sessão de encerramento.
O Workshop Vídeo-dança visa tratar um tema, ou o cruzamento de vários, a partir da sua investigação até à narrativa, passando pela interpretação e produção.
InShadow Festival organizes a 5 day workshop around the theory and practice of Video-dance, which will anticipate the beginning of the festival. It will have a final presentation at the closing of the Festival.
The Video-dance Workshop focuses on a theme, or on the connection of several of them, from its research to its narrative and also making an incursion into interpretation and production.

///A QUEM SE DESTINA / PARTICIPANTS
Todos os interessados em vídeo e dança – em especial estudantes e criativos, profissionais ou não-profissionais na área da dança, vídeo, arte, cinema, artes plásticas e artes performativas – que estejam motivados para desenvolver um projecto prático, como performers e/ou vídeo criadores.
All of those who are interested in video and dance – specially students and Creative people, professionals or non-professionals of Dance, Vídeo, Media Art, Cinema, Fine Arts and Performing Arts – who are motivated to develop a practical Project as performers and/or video directors.

/// DESCRIÇÃO / PROGRAMA / DESCRIPTION / PROGRAM ///
O workshop será uma abordagem prática e teórica e tem por objectivo desenvolver capacidades técnicas e artísticas dos participantes.
Será feita uma introdução à imagem em movimento e ao vídeo-dança através de exemplos de filmes.
Trabalhar-se-ão ideias e processos artísticos que resultarão em um ou mais vídeos a partir do contacto com equipamento de som e imagem. Nesta fase, serão explicados conceitos fundamentais de imagem e de captação de som.
Durante o processo haverá oportunidade para encontros individuais com Pedro Sena Nunes para discussão de projectos, e/ou aprendizagem de técnicas específicas.
Após as filmagens, dedicar-se-á algum tempo à montagem do material audiovisual. Nesta fase, serão explicados conceitos fundamentais do programa de edição Final Cut Pro (para Mac).

This workshop will be practical and theoretical and it aims to develop technical and artistic competences of the participants. An introduction to moving image and video-dance will be made through different film examples.
Ideas and artistic processes will be explored in order to create one or more videos from the encounter with sound and image equipment. In the process there will be individual sessions with Pedro Sena Nunes to discuss projects and specific techniques. After the filming sessions, the participants will edit their own material. At this stage some basic concepts and fundamentals of Final Cut Pro Mac programme will be explained to the attendants.

_Os participantes devem ter equipamento próprio (câmara de vídeo, câmara fotográfica digital, câmara de telemóvel, laptop, ou quaisquer outros materiais – vídeo footage, fotografias ou outros – que possam ser úteis para o trabalho; não esquecer cabos de ligação e carregadores de baterias)
_Trazer roupas e sapatos confortáveis.
_Os trabalhos podem ser desenvolvidos em equipa e/ou individualmente
_O horário de almoço será decidido com formador
_A edição poderá decorrer em horário extra-workshop, principalmente a finalização do vídeo para apresentação na sessão de encerramento.
_
_Participants should have their own equipment (video camera, digital photo camera, mobile camera, laptop or other materials – video footage, photographs or others – that may be useful for the Project; do not forget any cables or battery chargers);
_Bring comfortable shoes and clothes;
_Work can be developed in teams and/or individually;
_Lunch break will be organized with the tutor;
_Editing may occur during extra hours, specially the conclusion of the video for the final presentation.

Nasceu em Vila Nova de Famalicão, em 1977.
Vive e trabalha entre Portugal e Inglaterra como artista audiovisual/realizador. Licenciou-se em Som e Imagem na Escola das Artes da UCP do Porto, realizando estudos de Design de Som na Universidade HKU, Holanda. Desde então colabora frequentemente como sonoplasta e filma vários espectáculos de coreógrafos portugueses. Com o objectivo de conjugar o interesse pelo cinema, performance e artes plásticas, conclui dois mestrados em Londres, o primeiro em Artes Plásticas na Central Saint Martins e o segundo em Dance for the Screen na London Contemporary Dance School.
Desde então tem dedicado a sua prática artística à exploração do movimento humano através de uma abordagem cinematográfica.
O seu trabalho é regularmente apresentado em canais televisivos (como o Channel 4), museus e galerias (mais recentemente na exposição colectiva Figuring Landscapes na Tate Modern), e em diversos festivais de cinema e de vídeo-arte, no circuito nacional e internacional.
Já foi distinguido com vários prémios, destacando-se entre eles The Red Mansion Art Prize 2007; Novo Talento FNAC, Festival Indielisboa e melhor filme português sobre arte no festival Temp D` Images.
De algumas destas distinções resultaram residências artísticas em diversos países, nos quais aproveitou a experiência pessoal das viagens para desenvolver trabalhos de carácter experimental.

Born in Vila Nova de Famalicão, 1977.
Lives and works between Portugal and England, as a visual artist/director. He has a degree in Sound and Image at Art School of Oporto University and studied Sound Design at HKU University in Holland. Ever since he colLaborates frequently as a sound designer and films several performances from Portuguese choreographers. Aiming to combine his interest in cinema, performance and Fine Arts he concluded two masters in London, the first being in Fine Arts at Central Saint Martins and the second in Dance for the Screen at London Contemporary Dance School. Since then he has been dedicated to the exploration of the human movement through a cinematographic approach.
His work is regularly presented in TV channels (Channel 4), museums and galleries (more recently at the exhibition Figuring Landscapes, Tate Modern) and in several national and international cinema and video art festivals. He has been awarded several times, such as The Red Mansion Art Prize 2007; FNAC New Talent, Indielisboa Festival and Best Portuguese Art Film at Temp D` Images Festival.
